IRON GATES · YAKIMA, WA

Iron gates in Yakima, fabricated in our own shop

Considering a fence or gate? Superior Roofing, LLC runs a full service shop for plasma cutting, welding and metal fabrication.

Chapter 01

A gate begins as flat steel and a plan

Not many roofers also run a full shop. Ours does, and it is why an iron gate from Superior Roofing, LLC is not ordered from a catalog and dropped at your driveway. It starts as steel on a bench. The shop does plasma cutting, welding and metal fabrication, so the pieces are cut to the opening they have to fill, and the frame is built to hang the way you need it to swing.

That matters in the Yakima Valley, where a lot of property is deep, uneven or sloped, and where the opening you have is rarely the standard width a store sells. When the gate is made for the gap instead of the gap being made to suit the gate, the fit is cleaner and the look is deliberate.

Cutting, welding and the shape of the thing

Plasma cutting lets the shop work steel into the shapes a design needs, from plain, straight lines to something with more character. Welding joins the pieces into a frame that does not rack or sag as the years go by. Fabrication is the part in between: layout, fitting, and checking that the thing is square before anyone strikes an arc.

Gates and fences are where this shop work shows. A heavy gate puts a steady load on its posts and hinges, and a loose weld or a crooked frame is the first thing a gate gives up. We bring the same eye for detail to metal that we bring to a roof, and every job carries a personal touch. If you have a sketch, a photo from a neighbor's place, or only a rough idea of what you want, bring it in.

Chapter 03

Installed by the people who built it

The crew that fabricates your gate is the same crew that installs it. That is a simple thing, and it saves a lot of finger pointing. If the opening is a half inch off, the person who measured it and the person who hung it are the same, and the fix happens in the shop and on the site without anyone passing the blame around.
